We’ve been busy over the last couple days making some improvements to the NetHack playing experience. Tangles just finished a significant upgrade of dgamelaunch (dgl) which is the menu system everyone goes through to select the NetHack game/variant they want to play. You’ll notice that all available variants are now on the landing page again. You can also set your config editor preference, and there’s a more robust system to transfer configs between servers and even between other players.
Even more recently, hterm was updated to the latest version (1.87). Along with bugfixes is support for true 24bit color rendering. There are a handful of variants we host that support this, including 370-hdf and UnNetHack (you can confirm this in UnNetHack by issuing the #show_colors command). Any of you having issues getting hterm to work, it’s most likely due to your browser’s cache still loading the old .js files – performing a hard refresh of the cache while having the hterm page loaded will resolve it (ctrl+F5 for chrome/firefox/edge). If you’re still having trouble, shoot me an email or hop onto IRC and ask for help.
EDIT – the missing cursor in hterm issue has been resolved, use ctrl+F5 to force refresh the hterm window to load the change/fix.
Enjoy the changes and upgrades all.
