Um… yeah. Really original title from last months posting :-) So anyways…
Quite a bit has happened since I last posted… some good, some bad. If you’ve followed anything on the msgboard here, you’ll have a good idea what’s been going on, but in a nutshell – we’ve been subject to an IED/road-side bomb attack, have been shot at, have been shelled/mortared numerous times (thank God they can’t aim, heh), have lost two people from our platoon (one for murdering an innocent Iraqi, another because his wife had complications while having their first child… all is well tho last I heard) and just recently had our first fatality in our unit (Alpha Co.) due to an unfortunate humvee accident. We’ve seen and done quite a bit so far… here’s hoping it doesn’t get too much more exciting than this.
Pictures are all finally uploaded and ready for viewing. I’ve got close to 150 pics up as of last night, and that’s all of the ones I’ve taken so far. Probably wont take anymore until my new digital camera gets here… expect the quality of the pictures to go up ;-P So be sure to take a look – it’s the ‘Photo’s from Iraq’ section on the photo album, can’t miss it.
A big shout out to everyone who’s sent care packages or is getting ready to do so… they help much more than ya might think. Anything that I don’t need or can’t use finds it’s way into another soldiers hands that can use it, so everyone benefits, no matter what ya send. Err… except maybe that tube of KY I got from Timmy. Hmm… I’m betting someone will find a use for it :-)
To wrap up – it’s starting to get HOT here, it’s like someone flipped a switch from winter to summer. Come July/August this place is going to be brutal. Can’t fuckin’ wait
