Veterans Day, CS:S retired for good

By K2 on November 11th, 2006 at 3:29 pm EST

On this day in 1918, Veterans Day came into being to honor the dead of World War I. It was originally known as ‘Armistice Day’ until Congress officially changed the name several years later, making it a holiday to celebrate all Soldiers that have served in times of war. So please take some time from your weekend to thank those that you know that currently serve, or have served in the past, our country in her times of need.

Hardfought CS:S – officially retired, for good, as of today. So once again (been awhile since this has happened), I’m not hosting anything at the moment. A number of factors contributed to it’s discontinuation here, but it’s time has come and gone. We had a good run with this title for a good while, but it’s time to say good-bye to Counter-Strike, and too make room for other things. Those other things being games like Team Fortress 2 (which has now been delayed until the summer of 2007), Unreal Tournament 2007, possibly Neverwinter Nights 2, and other future titles. Boomhauer still has my two dual-CPU systems up and online, and ready to go. All we need now is a game we can get everyone to rally behind ;-)

That’s all I got for this weekend gang. Enjoy your weekend, thanks the veterans you know for their service, and stay safe. Time to go mow the lawn… :-P
